Types and characteristics of windlass
The windlass is mainly composed of base, support, anchor sprocket, brake, sprocket, gearbox, electric control system (except manual windlass), etc. The electric windlass has a motor, and the hydraulic windlass has a hydraulic pump station.
The main technical indicators of the windlass include the diameter of the anchor chain, the nominal speed of the anchor, the rated load, the supporting load, several speeds, and the electric system.
The installation of the windlass on the ship should ensure that the wrap angle between the anchor chain and the sprocket is 117-120 degrees.
Types of windlass Windlass can be divided into several specifications such as φ12-φ120mm according to the diameter of the chain.
According to the energy of the driving mechanism-manual windlass, steam windlass, electric windlass (DC electric windlass, AC electric windlass), hydraulic windlass (high pressure hydraulic windlass, medium pressure hydraulic windlass) , Low-pressure hydraulic windlass.
According to the direction of the center line of the sprocket shaft, it can be divided into horizontal windlass and vertical windlass (winch).
According to the layout method: ordinary (integral) windlass, unilateral (independent) windlass, combined windlass.
Ship winch
Marine winches are light and small lifting equipment (see hoisting machinery) that use a reel to wind a wire rope or chain to lift or tow heavy objects, also known as a hoist. The winch can be used alone or as a component in machinery such as lifting, road construction and mine hoisting. It is widely used because of its simple operation, large rope winding volume and convenient displacement.
There are two types of winches, manual and electric. The transmission mechanism of the handle rotation of the manual winch is equipped with a stopper (ratchet and pawl), which can keep the heavy object in the required position. The manual winch used for assembling or lifting heavy objects should also be equipped with safety handles and brakes. Manual winches are generally used in places with small lifting capacity, poor facility conditions, or no power supply.
