Side Scuttle

Classification of Side Scuttle
According to ISO standards, side scuttles are divided into three basic types according to the maximum allowable pressure they can withstand: Type A heavy side scuttle, Type B medium side scuttle and Type C light side scuttle. Type A and Type B have inner storm covers. Port scuttles can be divided into left-opening (L), right-opening (R), co-hinge (S) and fixed (N) according to whether the window sash frame with glass can be opened. Type window; According to its installation method, it can be divided into bolt installation (B) or welding installation (w).

Material selection of Side Scuttle
1, The main parts such as the main window frame, window sash frame, glass pressing ring and storm cover of marine side scuttle shall be made of marine corrosion-resistant materials. These parts can be made of actinium, steel, aluminum alloy and other different materials and assembled together, but welded side scuttles The main window frame directly welded to the steel hull structure shall be carbon steel.
2, The porthole glass should be made of transparent or frosted toughened safety glass, and the gasket material should be a rubber gasket that is resistant to seawater and ultraviolet radiation.
3, Other parts of the side scuttle, including the hinge bolts, hinge pins and nuts in the locking device, and the hinge pins for the window frame and storm cover shall be made of corrosion-resistant metal materials, and the hinge pins may be made of stainless steel.
